EGPAF is implementing USAIDÂ’s Uganda Health Activity (UHA) with the aim of helping to improve overall health system resilience and to increase the survival and well-being of vulnerable populations in USAID Uganda priority districts. To support the implementation of UHA, EGPAF is seeking qualified candidates for the position of:

How will you fight for an AIDS-free generation?
To provide reliable and courteous transportation service to EGPAF staff and visitors, ensuring the safety of the Foundation staff, property, and vehicles; and to operate and maintain the assigned vehicle(s); and vehicle records.
No two days are alike at EGPAF, but what can you expect in this role?
1.1 Driver Roles
• Operates and maintains transportation vehicles with a focus on safety and courtesy.
• Performs daily vehicle inspections and fills out daily inspection forms.
• Performs minor maintenance tasks on the vehicles when necessary.
• Manages the logging, fueling, and computation of monthly vehicle fuel consumption.
• Ensures that periodic scheduled vehicle maintenance is completed and reported.
• Ensures that vehicles are clean.
• Documents staff usage of vehicles.
• Prepares to trip reports.
• Prepares accident and incident reports as necessary.
• Provides safety briefing to passengers.
1.2 Logistic Assistant Roles
• Petty procurement of office consumables.
• Taking charge of the office generator (fueling and service).
• Checking functionality/expiry of firefighting equipment.
• Posting and collecting mail from the Post Office.
• Delivering office supplies to district health Office and health facilities.
• Supporting the store’s assistant with loading and off-loading supplies, arranging stores, and any other stores-related tasks assigned.
• Supporting the coordination of logistical requirements during events like training, workshops, and meetings in the field.
• Carry out any other duties reasonably assigned by the Supervisor.
To be successful, you will have:
• Must have completed O’level.
• Possession of a valid Ugandan driver’s license – Classes: B, DL, DM.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in a similar position, preferably with a USAID-funded agency or nongovernmental organization.
• Training in defensive driving.
• Ability to drive a multi-passenger vehicle safely and appropriately, including the ability to read and interpret road signs in English.
• Ability to read, understand, and adhere to the rules and regulations of the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation and the Government of Uganda.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; ability to establish good working relationships with, co-workers, and upper-level staff.
• Team player with good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a diverse social and cultural environment.
• Ability to prepare concise and accurate records and reports; extensive knowledge of the operations and features of assigned vehicle(s).
• Ability to recognize vehicle maintenance needs; ability to perform minor vehicle repairs; skilled in reasoning skills to interpret policies and procedures, and route directions; and
• Ability to administer First Aid.
Required Competencies:
• Excellent interpersonal, writing, and English language oral presentation skills.
• Strong skills in teamwork and networking. Excellent verbal communication and writing skills.
• Team player with good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a diverse social and cultural environment.
• Good working knowledge of computers with the ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel.
