Job Duties and Responsibilities
Purpose of the Job
To provide academic leadership and knowledge in the relevant discipline and lead the development and implementation of research and publications.
Duties and Responsibilities
Prepares and delivers lectures to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Conducts research and disseminates research findings.
Promotes knowledge transfer of his/her subject through original work.
Guides and supervises students doing research.
Conducts seminars
Sets and marks tests, examinations and coursework
Guides and advises students on their performance.
Person Specifications
Should have an earned Ph.D. in the relevant discipline from a recognized institution of higher learning
Should have conducted research as a Senior Lecturer in the relevant discipline, published and had at least five (5) years of teaching in a recognized institution of higher learning.
Should have demonstrated academic excellence and had Three (3) new publications in area of specialization since promotion to the track of Senior Lecturer.
Should have supervised at least three (3) graduate students to completion since last promotion.
Should have a good track record of service to the public.
