Job Duties and Responsibilities

Boiler Operator, Kampala

Reporting to Boiler Supervisor/ Production Officer, the Successful Candidate Will;

Key Result Areas:

• Operate the boilers on a day-to-day basis.

• Maintain regular servicing on the boilers.

• Implement proper maintenance of records and registers related to boilers operations.

• Maintain good housekeeping practices.

• Maintain and adhere to the company’s Environment, Health and Safety regulations while at work.

• Monitor and maintain heating and steam boilers and equipment, using hand tools.

• Maintain the regulation of heat and steam through observing gauges.

• Installation of burners and auxiliary equipment, using hand tools.

• Any other duties assigned by the Boiler Supervisor or Production Officer

Educational Qualifications and Experience

• Ordinary Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or certificate in boiler operation from a recognized institution.

• 2 years working experience in maintenance and operation of steam boilers and chillers in a busy manufacturing environment

• Good communication skills including reading skills.

• An aptitude for math.

• Mechanical ability.

• Physical strength and stamina.

• The ability to work in high places.

• The ability to get along well with co-workers.

• The ability to keep up to date with changing technology.

• The ability to do precision work
