Uganda Institute of Banking, and Financial Services (UIBFS) is a Centre of Excellence in Financial Services Training in Uganda. The Institute is designed to promote professionalism, and inclusion through market-led training, research, and consultancy to providers and users of financial services. The Institute’s training programs cover Professional, Short & Executive, Specialized, and Post Graduate Courses.

Uganda Institute of Banking, and Financial Services, invites applications from suitably qualified Ugandans who fully meet the required job specifications and with the right personal attributes to occupy the following positions in the InstituteÂ’s established structure

2. Post: Director Business Development, Marketing, and Membership

Number of Vacancies: 01

Salary Scale: UIBF2

Nature of Employment: Contract

Minimum Qualification:

Applicants should be Ugandans holding:

• Honor’s degree in, Mass communication or Marketing or Business Administration (Marketing options) Public Relations, or any bachelor’s degree with marketing professional qualification or postgraduate qualification from a recognized university/Institution.

• A Master’s qualification in any of the courses above

• Membership to a relevant professional association (s)

Minimum Working Experience:

Applicants should have a minimum of eight (8) years of working experience with at least 4 years at the supervisory level in marketing, public relations, and business development role in a reputable Institution

Key Competencies:

He/she should have the following Key competencies: Excellent understanding of business operations and procedures, Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, Strong organizational and planning skills, Outstanding research and analytical abilities, Project management skills, Strong leadership skills, Research and Data Analysis skills, Stakeholder Engagement and Management, Business Opportunities Development, Customer Acquisition Management, Digital Marketing, Marketing Campaign Management, Market Research, Sales Target Management

Critical Work Functions For The Role:

1. Develop and implement strategies to generate new business opportunities including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, products as well as services to achieve defined targets of the Institute’s business portfolio.

2. To improve current business operations and revise them to achieve the Institute’s long-term vision.

3. Plan and oversee the implementation of Membership activities in line with the InstituteÂ’s objectives

4. Develop and implement the Institute’s marketing and business promotion strategy in line with the InstituteÂ’s strategic plan.

5. Lead the Institute’s research and development process and the dissemination of findings on the emerging trends in the banking and financial service industry

6. Develop business proposals to enable UIBFS to access business as well as funding opportunities and negotiate with stakeholders

7. Oversee the provision of library services and learning resources to the members in line with the InstituteÂ’s objectives

8. Develop the consultancy concept and promote excellent consultancy delivery in line with the agreed-upon milestones

9. Design and implement programs for improving the Institute’s public image, plan and organize functions and activities to improve membership engagement

10. Set benchmarks for the growth of the Institute business for different business areas and manage stakeholder interests/concerns/expectations in line with the business plan.

11. Plan and conduct research on banking and finance topical issues including market and competitive trends and disseminate the results to the members of the Institute

12. Responsible for overall coordination of strategic plan preparation and monitoring of Institute business performance
