Position advertised for: Dry Leaf Warehouse Supervisor

Reporting to: Group Blender
The job holder is entrusted with the overall supervision of the dry leaf (packed tobacco) and Primary Manufacturing Department stores’ day to day activities that include receipts of tobacco from the GLT processing, storage and proper demarcation of the various grades, issuances to the Primary Manufacturing Department and export dispatch to the group entities and to third party customers.
Key Job Responsibilities for the Position
Ensuring the smooth running of day to day activities of the dry leaf store which includes supervising the receiving, issuing, exports, stacking of packed tobacco and housekeeping.
Preparation of monthly packed leaf stock reports for the factory and submission of the same to the Group blender and management.
Ensure that all packed products are correctly labeled /identified and packed according to the company packing standards.
Store cartons on a safely manner, observing all the safety condition for workers and the building inside the warehouse.
Must ensure that there are convenient evacuation corridors, exit doors, driving corridor sizes free of obstacles inside the warehouse/ store while stacking the cartons.
Ensure the correct labeling of the cartons according to the export specific instructions.
Ensure that all packed cartons are weighed before fumigation and before loading for export.
Ensure to make a timely reporting of all export cartons with defect, damage, or any abnormal condition through making of vigilant inspections before loading.
Make accurate record of all the stock per grades/lot/crop year, number of cartons induding its movement in and out of the warehouse.
Ensuring good working and mechanical condition for all forklifts by timely coordination with the head of fleet in requesting spares and reporting on repairs done as well as the status of all forklifts.
Preparing the semester budget for all general workers in the dry leaf department.
Supervising all the workers of dry leaf department and Primary Manufacturing Department stores to ensure efficiency in work, achievement of targets, timely dispatch of export tobaccos as scheduled and timely issues to the Primary Manufacturing Department to avoid factory stoppage.
Carrying out any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the management from time to time.
Qualifications, Abilities, Skills & Experience:
Must have proven very strict adherence and attention to details.
Must possess proven ability to work under enormous pressure.
Proven problem solving ability and correction of errors in the minimum of time possible.
Ability to learn new ideas and adjust to new requirements in the shortest time.
Must have great leadership ability, organizational skills and a good communicator.
Must possess high proven derical skills, and records keeping.
Proficiency in computer skills such as Ms Excel & Spreadsheets, Ms Access, Microsoft word, and MS Power point presentation.
Education and Formal Training:
University Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Procurement & Supply Chain Management, University Diploma or Degree in Business Management and Administration or its Equivalent.
Must possess not less than 5 years’ experiences in Warehouse Management within the manufacturing industry.
Must have proven prior experience in Managing a Warehouse in a very fast-paced environment/ set up while handling huge volumes and range of products.
Possession of proven prior experience in the tobacco industry shall be an added advantage.
