GSI is seeking enthusiastic and experienced individuals to fill the following positions:

Investment Officer Karamoja Region

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Identification and Map investment opportunities and existing investors within the region, prioritize the bankable investment opportunities by developing a pipeline of potential investments.

• Review existing investment plans, and prioritize attractive investment opportunities for private sector investments.

• Promoting collaboration, coordination, and engagement meetings among Platforms, business organizations, and private sector actors (including Uganda Entrepreneurs Association, PSFU, and Uganda National Chamber of Commerce) on investment opportunities, including UIA in the region.

• Support in popularizing investment opportunities within the regions.

• Development and regular update of the Database of Private Sector actors based on the pillars.

• Support the implementation of the investment plan

• Establish a one-business stop center of business information and opportunities in the region, including organizing regional investment promotion events.

• Review market trends to determine which investments may be appropriate for the platform’s portfolio at any given time. Prepare reports on the status of regional investments or portfolios to the Investment Manager as needed.

• Link up with District, Municipal & City Commercial officers and the Chamber of Commerce on possible regional investment opportunities.

• Support the regional platform in resource mobilization for platform activities and investment plan.

• Any other duty that may be assigned to you by your supervisor for the activity to function optimally.

Person Specification:

A bachelor’s degree in a Business related field like Finance, Economics, CPA level II, or Marketing with demonstrated experience in investment advice, Business Development, Private sector development, excellent communication skills, ability to drive results, experience in brokering investment activities with investors. A Person from a specific region is also an added advantage. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Business and private sector development.
