GRADUATE RECRUITMENT EXERCISE (GRE)

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill vacant posts currently available in Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies. Applications should be filled ON-LINE not later than 13th March 2023.

Minimum Qualification

Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering from a recognized University /Institution.

Duties
The incumbent will be responsible to the Senior Environment Officer – Engineering for performing the following duties:-
• Participating in the development and implementation of management plans and systems, standards, policies, pollution control plans, procedures and codes of practice, decommissioning and restoration plans in the Sector;

• Preparing and updating environmental investigation and impact assessment reports;

• Participating in the design of environmental protection systems, restoration plans, air pollution control systems, and waste management procedures;

• Obtaining, updating, and maintaining plans, permits, and standard operating procedures for the sector;

• Creating awareness/promotion of technology required to mitigate the challenge of environment degradation and /or pollution in the sector;

• Participating in inspections, technical audits, research and training so as to enforce compliance in the sector in collaboration with other lead Agencies;

• Drafting monthly and quarterly performance reports for the Unit;

• Identifying and considering of potential contaminant sources and making recommendations on clean-up, reclamation and waste management activities;

• Investigating, recording and compiling reports for environmental-related complaints.

• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
