Are you an impact-driven Investment Professional with a desire to grow in Mezzanine Fund Management?

BiD Capital Partners is an impact investment advisory and asset management firm with offices in East Africa and Europe. Established in 2006, BiD Capital Partners has facilitated more than 250 investments for emerging market SMEs worldwide. In addition to our investment advisory services, we have two funds under management in Rwanda and Uganda specifically. To meet our regional expansion and the growing scope of our service offerings in fund management, BiD CP is looking to recruit a Portfolio Lead to join our Kampala, Uganda office.

Role Summary

As the Portfolio Lead, you will support the BiD CP team to deliver fund management and investment advisory services. You will collaborate closely with entrepreneurs seeking investment capital. When required, you may also support regional transactions, international investors (VC, PE, impact funds) and development organizations.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Build financial models, projections, and valuations for SMEs

• Support Deal structuring and due diligence assignments

• Administrative support for funds under management, but not limited to preparing investment contracts, managing open investment positions, and liaising with regulatory authorities if required.

• Prepare Investor and Investment Committee facing documentation

• Additional Transaction Advisory functions including, but not limited, to buy side / sell side due diligence, valuations, and feasibility study support

• Project management and project reporting support

Qualifications

• The applicant should have a minimum of four years’ experience in either Investment banking, corporate advisory, management consulting with PE/VC exposure

• Outstanding financial modelling skills and proficiency in Microsoft excel

• Mezzanine investment experience is a preference

• Have a strong commercial drive and exceptional academic achievements

• Demonstrable strong analytical and critical thinking skills

• Excellent English communications skills, both verbal and written.

• Strong understanding of East African business environment, investment regulations and laws.

• Post graduate qualification (MBA) is an advantage, Completion or progress towards CFA charter or recognized Investment Industry certification is preferred

• Flexibility to travel and execute assignments within the region

The successful candidate will report directly to the Managing Partner, East Africa and Fund Manager, the Netherlands.
