Mountains of the Moon University (MMU) is a Public University established under Statutory Instrument, Number 2 of 2022, hence a body corporate with perpetual succession and a Common Seal.


First established as a Private University in 2005, by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE), in accordance with the Universities and Other Tertiary Institutions Act 2001, as amended, MMU has been making strides toward becoming an academic Centre of excellence.


To consolidate its desire for academic excellence, MMU hereby invites applications from suitably qualified and skilled candidates for the following positions: –

Purpose of the Job

To facilitate creation, storage, easy retrieval and archival of documents.


Key Functions

  1. Ensures records and documents are properly coded and filed for easy reference.
  2. Ensures security of all records and documents.
  3. Tracks and makes available movement schedules for files.


Job Advertisement

  1. Maintaining and updating track schedules for opened and closed Files on a daily basis.
  2. Ensures proper maintenance and filing of records and documents.
  3. Ensures appropriate compartmentalization of files, record and documents in the registry.
  4. Receives, creates and manages an inventory of files, records and documents.
  5. Participates in the design and implementation of an online registry and the overall registry re-organization.
  6. Ensures systematic weeding of documents in accordance with the law, regulations and guidelines.
  7. Maintains an efficient and properly documented archive for easy access and retrieval of records.


Key Outputs

  1. Correspondences received, registered and classified.
  2. Records and documents are safely stored and are easily retrieved.
  3. Records and registers audited.
  4. Registry properly organized.
  5. Correspondences routed to responsible officers
  6. Disposal and archival scheduled properly kept.


Person Specifications

  1. Should have a Bachelor’s degree in Records Management or Bachelor in Library Science.
  2. Should have a working experience in records management of four years.
  3. Should have good problem-solving and analytical skills.
  4. Should have good organizational skills.
  5. Should have good communication and influencing skills, especially when requiring colleagues to hand over records or to use the systems correctly.
  6. Should be confidence with using bespoke and standard databases, software and operating systems.
