School for Life Foundation (SFL) formerly United Future Foundation Uganda (UFFU), is a not-for-profit organisation that operates 03 schools in Mpigi district, delivering holistic education to primary and secondary students in two campuses located in Mbazzi and one in Katuuso. As a result of planned organisational growth, vacancies exist for motivated, competent and experienced professionals to join our team.

School Counsellor (01 vacancy)

Duties and responsibilities

• To be responsible for implementing efficient and effective systems that support students’ social and emotional needs and development with the aim to foster resilience and personal skills development. The School Counsellor provides preventive counselling services, and respond to identified student needs by coordinating a comprehensive program that addresses personal and social development for students.

Person specification

• A Degree in Guidance and Counselling, Community Psychology or a related field required;

• Current classroom teacher and guidance counselling certification/qualification;

• Well versed in psychoeducational interventions;

• Experience and expertise in running effective Parent education workshops;

• Strong ICT skills and a knowledge of their effective use to support pedagogy;

• Minimum of two (02) years’ experience in general counselling of school children.
