Africa Broadcasting Uganda Limited (ABUL), a Nation Media Group company, operating NTV and SPARK TV seeks to recruit talented and qualified individuals to fill the vacancy below.

Job Title: Social Media Specialist (ABUL)-1 POSITION

Reports to: Assistant Managing Editor

Department: Digital News

Job Purpose:

To engage NTV and Spark TV online visitors and viewers using various social media platforms and responding to them as necessary.

Main Responsibilities:

• Quality assurance: Ensure the aesthetic qualities of all NTV and Spark TV Online platforms such as all Facebook pages; twitter accounts are maintained at all times and in a professional way.
• Monitoring and maintenance of all online platforms and operations.
• Development of NTV’s and Spark TV’s Online Presence: Manage all online platforms and oversee and provide guidance for all online forums.
• Online Feedback: Engage with audiences, and circulate accurate reports, detailing results of performance, and areas of possible improvement.
• Ensure that Banner adverts and in-house campaigns are promoted/published at the appropriate time.
• Oversee operation and drive uptake on all NTV and Spark TV SMS platforms being utilized effectively in consultation with the respective departments.

Qualifications & Experience:

Academic: University Degree from an accredited institution

Experience: 3-2 years’ experience

Core Competencies

• Good IT and Digital media skills.
• Demonstrated creativity and immersion in social media.
• In-depth understanding of social media platforms, their participants and community dynamics.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Results oriented attitude.
• Innovative and Creative.
